How Do I Set My Priorities? 2

"Priorities define life and help successful men to make the best out of their lives"
-Bruce Schultz

Good day to you 🤗

I hope your week is going on well. And I hope you are making the most of the season by holding on to all that is said on this platform.

As a way of recapping what we looked at the previous time, We were made to understand that your priorities go a long way to define who you are. And that, it is very important to know what you want out of life because that is what will help you to withstand the challenging reasons life might give you to compromise your stand.

So, very quickly into the core of the subject matter, we are looking at HOW DO I SET MY PRIORITIES? I think I remember rephrasing it this way the last time, "how then do I put my Priorities in place inspite the challenges and roughness?"
We go straight way.

I'll like to resound something into our minds, that only those who know what they want, and will not shift their ground on their decision, will arrive where they are going.

How do I set my Priorities?
First things first

1. You must make up your mind not to relent or lax over your decisions.

You might be wondering, is this even a step at all? But I tell you that if a person already fails at the beginning, you can almost tell how the end will look like. It's very important to make your mind ready and set, even before the journey starts. One thing that drives people sometimes, is not the results they are seeing or not seeing; it's more often than nought, the determination they had in their minds to finish the race, even before they ever started. So, bro/sis.. Make up your mind to live by the Priorities you will be setting for yourself, so that at the end, you will see yourself in the picture you painted before you started.

2. Take steps !!!

Just two words. But if you don't get started, you will never finish, talk less of being close to the finishing line. When I say finish, it applies to some standards and decisions. Why? Because there are terminal goals and life long goals. So you know that for a life long goal or desire, the day you relent, you already are beginning to mar that person you are already/becoming.
Either terminal or life long goals, it takes getting started to see results at all.

3. Know yourself

Make the Priorities you are going to set for yourself workable. Know your person, know how you function as a person so that you can effectively take actions. And in doing this, you must be true to yourself. If you observe that you are a lazy person, you know that you must discipline yourself by all proper means available at your disposal before you get started, which will involve you getting more intentional about your growth in that aspect etc.

4. Draft a plan.

Based on your observations and all your feasibility studies  regards the path you've chosen and who you are, draw out your plan. You don't have to start big but as you go on, give room for the expansion of your wits. That's how you see yourself break grounds. Remember, you have made up your mind to finish; so you should not be scared of what your plans are looking like or demanding from you. Just keep at it. You are on your way somewhere and you will arrive there.

5. Manage your time

Here, you have to be strict with the 24 hours God as given you a person. Allot time slot to these things you've planned out. If not, you will find yourself clashing things up or not doing what you should per time.
Now, here, it doesn't mean that you are so strict that you can't even help others, or you can't sacrifice to put smile on people's faces. Beyond your becoming the "You" your priorities will paint you to be, is the impacts you've made in the lives of others. This is a topic for another day.  But, you should give room to invest your time in people's lives positively.

I will like to cut it here for a while. I hope you were able to pick up something again from this. You can't afford to get insight and light from these alone. Why not share with friends and loved ones around you, even families.

Remember, your priorities will paint a picture of who you stand to be; it will tell who you are. Beware the kind of priorities you set for yourself.

See you in the next episode of this series, God bless you!
